Three day long book fair concludes at Model Academy

JAMMU, Sept 3: Three day long book fair organized by Model Academy as part of the Internal School Awards Activity of the British Council concluded today.
The books for the occasion were provided by Scholastic India Private Limited, a renowned publishing house producing children books for all ages.
The objective behind organising the book fair was to promote the culture of reading in the era of internet among children and taking it a step ahead on the school level. The book fair had almost 600 titles on the display catering to all age groups and a variety of genres.
There was a special browsing session where the students spent a lot of time looking and choosing the books they want to have. The book fair gave them an opportunity to read by choice.
The concluding day saw an overwhelming response from students and parents who had come to visit the book fair.
The fair was inaugurated by Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, who wished that the students should inculcate sound reading habits which would help them in all fields of life.
General Awareness books, History and Mythology, Biographies, Storybooks, Activity books, Hobbies, Science and Reference, Fiction and Non-Fiction and books by internationally acclaimed authors like JK Rowling, Ruskin Bond, Roald Dahl, Joan Matter, Carol Greene, Peter Clutter Buck, Matt Mullins, Paul Beck, James Dashner and Terry Bell were some of the attention holding books exhibited in the fair.
School Principal, Pramod Srivastava was also present on the occasion.
The whole event was coordinated by the school librarians Veena Kumari and Shefali Sharma under the guidance of Jasleen Mohial, Academic Manager and Coordinator of the British Council activities in the school.
