Three injured in road mishap, two attempt suicide

JAMMU, June 4: Three persons were injured today in a road mishap while two others made abortive attempts on their lives by hanging and consuming poison.
According to a police spokesperson, three youths were injured today when the scooty they were travelling on got slipped at Qasim Nagar. The injured youth have been identified as Sameer (20) son of Mohd Iqbal, Izaz-ul-Haq (22) son of Mohd latif and Aaqib (21) son of Shabeer Ahmed, all residents of Channi. They were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for treatment.
Meanwhile, a migrant labourer from Rafiqpur Dumka in Jharkhand, who has been identified as Jantu Rai (31) son of Neetu Rai, tried to end his life by hanging self with a tree in Police Colony, Channi, here this afternoon. The eye witnesses informed the police who reached the spot, rescued the person and shifted him to GMCH for treatment.
A man identified as Subhash Sharma (42) son of Dharm Chand of Muthi area of city outskirts, also made an abortive attempt on his life by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence following which he was taken to GMCH for treatment.
In all cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
