JAMMU, Mar 25: Three talented fencers from Jammu and Kashmir have secured their spots in the Senior Fencing World Cup, set to take place from March 27 to 30.
Shreya Gupta, an international fencer, will represent India in the Women’s Sabre Fencing team at the Senior Fencing World Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
In the men’s category, two fencers from Jammu and Kashmir, Shivansh Kapoor and Vishal Thapar, have also earned their places. Shivansh will compete in the Epee World Cup in Morocco, while Vishal will represent India in the Sabre Fencing World Cup in Budapest, Hungary. This remarkable achievement highlights the growing talent in Jammu and Kashmir and their rising presence in international fencing competitions, making their state proud on the global stage. The teams were sponsored and cleared by Sports Authority of India.
