Three J&K Gymnasts to represent India at Asian C’ship in Tashkent

JAMMU, Apr 30: Two senior and one junior J&K Gymnasts have been selected to represent the country in the Senior & Junior Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships at Tashkent, Uzbekistan scheduled to be held from May 2 to 4.
This official event of International Gymnastics Federation is being organized by the Uzbekistan Gymnastics Federation under the aegis of Asian Gymnastics Union. This is also the Olympic Qualifier event for the participation in the forthcoming Olympic Games -2024 at Paris.
The Gymnastics Federation of India has selected a contingent of 9 senior & 10 junior Gymnasts during the National selection trials under the close supervision of the Selection Committee of GFI & a panel of 14 International & National qualified experts. Indian Contingent has left for Tashkent to showcase their talent in team as well Individual events.
Out of the 19 selected Gymnasts from the country, J&K Gymnasts are Muskan Rana (Rank 1) & Manya (Rank 3) who got birth for Seniors Asian Championships whereas another Gymnast Vaibhavi Sharma (Rank 2) got birth for Junior Asian RG Championships. Besides, Krupali Singh working with the Sports Council has also been nominated as Coach of the Senior Indian Team.
These Gymnasts are taking training at Gymnastics Academy at M A Stadium, Jammu under the expertise of Arjuna Awardee Krupali Singh, Chief Gymnastics Coach with J&K Sports Council & under her able expertise J&K Gymnasts have won highest medals in the past editions of Prestigious National Games, Khelo India Youth Games & various National championships.
Er. Kiran Wattal, Vice President of Gymnastics Federation of India & President Gymnastics Association of J&K has also been nominated & accompanying Indian Contingent as Head of the Delegation. He also applauds all selected Gymnasts, their Coaches & Parents of the Gymnasts for their selection in the Indian Squad. Wattal also appreciated LG Manoj Sinha for providing Gymnastics Academy equipped with world class infrastructure in Jammu & the unending support & assistance being provided by J&K Government
