JAMMU, Mar 20: Three persons were killed while 16 others were injured in two separate road mishaps in Jammu district.
According to a police spokesman, a 12-year-old boy was killed on the spot while 15 others sustained injuries when a Tata Mobile vehicle carrying them skidded off the road and met with an accident at Chowki Choura in Akhnoor area, this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Deepak Sharma son of Rajinder Sharma, a resident of village Ghaink (Gharota). His body was shifted to mortuary room of Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor.
The injured identified as Sudesh Kumari (45) wife of Kewal Kumar, Tara Chand (45) son of Duni Ram, Ashok Kumar (46) son of Durga Mani, Bimala Devi (70) wife of Kaka Ram, Harshiv (10) son of Mohinder, Mohinder Kumar (38) son of Des Raj, Sudesh Kumari (30) wife of Romesh Lal, Rahul Sharma (10) son of Vijay Kumar, Nisha Devi (26) wife of Romesh Lal, Rittu Devi (30) wife of Moti Ram, Ashwani Kumar (12) son of Vijay Kumar, Sardha Devi (34) wife of Vijay Kumar, Kamlesh Kumari (30) wife of Nek Ram, Jannu (10) son of Nek Ram, Bishan Dass son of Thoru Ram and Narshiv (8) son of Mohinder Kumar, all residents of Badral, tehsil Akhnoor, were shifted to SDH Akhnoor, from where Bishan Dass was referred to GMCH, where he expired late night. The police had taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, at Sainik Colony area of city outskirts, a motorcycle hit a pedestrian this evening resulting into serious injuries to both pedestrian and as well as bike rider. Both were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where the pedestrian identified as Sadar Din (16) son of Abdul Hamid, a resident of Mahore, Reasi, at present living in Channi Himmat, was declared as brought dead by the doctors while the condition of the bike rider namely Suryansh (22) son of Koushal Dogra, a resident of Channi Himmat, was stated to be serious when the last reports came in.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of GMCH for conducting post mortem tomorrow. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
