SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Police arrested three liquor smugglers along with large quantity of liquor bottles in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said that, on some reliable information, police laid a naka at Bijbehara and intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JKO8A-5465.
During checking, police recovered 81 bottles of liquor and arrested three bootleggers, who have been identified as Mohammad Yusuf Sheikh, resident of Kadipora Anantnag, Gulzar Ahmad Goswami, resident of Achabal Adda Anantnag and Majid Ahmad Dar of Munwar Harnag Anantnag. The accused used to supply liquor in Anantnag district.
A case under FIR number 259/14 under Section 48 F Excise Act has been registered and investigation started.
