SAMBA, May 13: Three shops were gutted in fire due to short circuit in Swakha area, falling under the jurisdiction of Vijaypur police station.
As per police sources, fire broke out in a shop at Swankha Morh late last night, which engulfed the two adjoining shops.
On receiving information, police party from Vijaypur Police Station rushed to the spot and fire tenders were pressed in to service to douse the flames.
The fire broke late last night due to short circuit and the fire tenders along with the teams of fire fighters rushed to the spot to avoid any untoward incident.
No casualty or injury in the incident has been reported, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
A uniform store of Harvinder Kour, wife of Tarsem Singh, car accessories shop of Tarum Katal, son of Anchal Singh and pollution checking centre of Sukhwinder Singh, son of Dalvir Singh were gutted in fire.
A spokesman of Fire and Emergency Services Department said that three fire tenders were pressed into service from Samba Fire Station to douse the flames.
After hectic efforts of nearly one hour by the police personnel and fire fighter the flames were brought under control, he added.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Vijaypur police station and investigation started.
