DODA, July 26: Friends Cricket Club Ghat registered a thrilling 1-run victory over Rehmat Cricket Club Doda to seal berth in the semifinals of the ongoing All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2017, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and was sponsored by 10 Rashtriya Rifles Doda.
Earlier, batting first, FCC Ghat scored a decent total of 168 runs in the stipulated 20. Suneel Dagar top scored with 40 runs, while Hardeep Singh contributed valuable 32 runs to the total. For RCC Doda, Puneet Kumar and Sukhvinder Singh bowled brilliantly and scalped 3 wickets each.
In reply, RCC Doda fell just short of 1-run as they manage to score 167 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, thus lost the match in a nail-biting contest by just 1 run. Gopal Singh made highest 58 runs for the team while Rompy scored 31 runs. For FCC Ghat, Ankit Tomar was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 important wickets while Ankush Nagar took 3 wickets. Ankit Tomar of Friends Cricket Club Ghat was declared as the man of the match for his impressive bowling performance who was given prize by Vice President J&K Bank Zonal Office Doda, Khursheed Fazili along with ACR Doda Tariq Hussain Naik and DySP Hqr Iftikhar Ahmed.
The match was officiated by Munish Zutshi and Ifroz Rather as umpires, while Milind Gore acted as the scorer.
