JAMMU, Oct 24: With an aim to promote peace and harmony in society, Tiger Division conducted ‘Run for Unity’ for the civilians and defence persons at Sunjuwan, here today.
The event was part of elaborate celebrations planned by the Govt to observe the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as the National Unity Day on October 31, 2019.
The objective of conducting this event was to evoke the feeling of nationalism by coming together and taking a step towards inculcating the spirit of physical fitness and promoting healthy lifestyle amongst the young generation and civil populace of Sunjuwan area.
Approximately 1300 civilians and defence runners participated in various categories. The event was attended by students of International Delhi Public School, Army Public School and by Madrassa of Bhatindi. The event saw overwhelming response from civilians, Ex-servicemen and their next of kin in diversified age categories from 7 years to 85 years.
Prominent locals, school headmasters, Madrassa Moulvis, ESM and students expressed their sincere gratitude towards the Army for organizing such an inimitable event to bring everyone together.
