KARGIL, May 18: Tiger Hill Archery Competition was organised in Kargil by Army for the villagers of Kargil region, here.
A total of nine teams comprising of five players each participated in the competition. Twelve archers have been selected from the tournament to take part in this year’s Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations.
It is pertinent to mention here that Archery is a very popular traditional sport among the locals of the Kargil region. The sport is conducted even during cultural and social events in the region.
The winners and runners-up teams were felicitated by the Army on the valedictory function.
The villagers appreciated the efforts of Army in promoting the sports of Archery in the region and preserving culture and tradition.
