JAMMU, Nov 20: An Inter-School debate competition was organized at Tiny Tots Hr Secondary School Sainik Colony, here today.
The topic of the debate was “Social Networking is Unsafe for Kids”. Students expressed their views for and against the topic.
Students from 8 different schools participated in the competition and the participating schools included Model Academy, Tiny Tots High School Residency Road, ASN Hr Secondary School Channi Himmat, NSM Hr Secondary School, Global Convent School, S M Jain Hr Sec School,Tiny Tots Hr Sec Schools, Lower Roop Nagar and Sainik Colony.
The adjudicators of the event were Dr Monika Sethi, Associate Professor, Department of English, University of Jammu and Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Asstt Professor, Department of English, Directorate of Distance Education University of Jammu.
Gurpreet Handa, the Director of the Tiny Tots Group of Schools welcomed the guests and gave a brief history of Social Networking before the start of the competition.
Jugal Kishore, MLC and former Minister praised the students for putting up such good show and lauded the management for organizing such events. The Principal of the School, Dr Vikram Handa while declaring the results said that every participant in the competition was a winner as the participants spoke their hearts out for this topic which touched their lives so closely.
Laksh of S M Jain Hr Sec School and Sadia Khateeb of Tiny Tots Hr Sec School, Sainik Colony emerged winners of the event, while Sandesh Thakur of Model Academy and Priyanka of NSM Hr Sec School won the first runner-up trophy. Kamla Thapa of Tiny Tots Hr Sec School, Sainik Colony and Diksha Koul of ASN Hr Sec School were declared as the second runner-up.
The consolation prizes were won by Kanwar Patel, Samreen Tariq and Hari Priya Sharma.
The chairperson of the group, Veena Handa presented vote of thanks. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Deepak Handa, Director of the Tiny Tots Group of Schools and Administrator of ASN Hr Sec School, Ritesh Kapoor.
