SRINAGAR, Apr 29: A toddler was charred to death in a fire incident at Sheeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district today.
At around 12:15 am, fire broke out in the one storey house of Showkat Ahmad in Laridora in Sheeri. At the time of fire, the two children of Showkat were in the house and unfortunately one and half year old kid identified as Mansoor Showkat lost his life. Showkat’s 12 year old daughter, Nousheen, is missing.
Police recovered the body of the toddler from debris while the search for another one is on. He said the house of the Showkat was made up of mud and that is why it consumed the life of Mansoor.
The mother of children was out for some work at the time of incident while Showkat, who is a labourer by profession was also out.
Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet.
