Tohan Tibba to get Rs. 40 lakh play-field: Chib

JAMMU, Sept 15: As a sequel to government efforts of upgrading sports edifice across the state, a spacious play-field would be developed at Tohan Tibba in Suchetgarh constituency at an estimated cost of Rs.40 lakh.
This was stated by Minister for Sports &Youth Services, R.S.Chib while chairing an officers meeting convened to review the sports infrastructure besides taking stock of various road widening projects here today.
Among others Regional Director Social Forestry, Urban Forestry, ADDC, Jammu, Administrator Auqaf, DFO, Urban Forestry, Executive Engineer R&B and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
Dwelling on the proposed project, the Minister said that the Auqaf authorities have agreed to provide their land at Tohan Tibba for raising this vital sports facility.
The meeting deliberated in detail upon progress of the road widening projects being carried out in Ranbir Singh Pura including Behlool Nallah to Kullian, R.S.Pura to Sattowali and other roads.
Chib directed the concerned to speed up the process of felling of trees and shifting of poles and other utilities for timely construction of these vital road links. He expressed concern over the performance and working system of contractors which badly affects the progress on construction of such vital projects besides blemishing the sincerity of the government agencies involved in these works. He asked the executing agencies to strictly deal with such low performing contractors.
The Minister asked the officers to step up their efforts for ensuring time bound completion of various projects taken up in the constituency.
