SRINAGAR, May 4: The 3-day 5th Sub Junior National Tong-iL-Moo-Do championship was today concluded here today. The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah was the chief guest on the occasion.
As many as 300 students drawn from J&K, Delhi, UP, MP, Haryana, Maharashtra and Punjab participated in the championship. The games were played in three age groups of Under 10, Under 14 and Under 17.
The event was organized by J&K Tong-iL-Moo-Do Association and was sponsored by the Green Valley Educational Institution, Soura.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that sports activities are part of education which should be carried apart with learning of general education, adding that all sports activities need to be encouraged as the sound mind always remains in sound body.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner gave away the prizes and mementoes among the meritorious athletes.
