JAMMU, Sept 26: Taranjit Singh Tony, senior Congress leader and contesting candidate for the Bahu constituency today assured that women empowerment will be implemented in letter and spirit, if Congress is voted to power in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a public meeting, Tony said, “The BJP-led administration has done nothing meaningful for the progress and empowerment of women in the region. It’s high time for change and that change will only come through Congress, a party that has always stood for the welfare and upliftment of women.”
Reiterating the Congress party’s commitment to social justice and gender equality, Tony promised that the party will deliver on its promises to women.
“Women are the backbone of society, and their empowerment is crucial for the progress of our region. I appeal to the women of J&K to place their trust in Congress, as we are determined to bring about real change,” he added.
He urged the women to come forward and support him and assured that if elected, Congress will introduce policies that prioritize their rights, education, financial independence, and overall welfare.
