Tornado Cricket Club, MGCA XI win matches

JAMMU, Dec 13: In the ongoing Jammu Tawi Premier T-20 Cricket Tourney, two matches were played today which were won by Tornado Cricket Club (TCC) and MGCA XI.
The 1st match was played between Arjun Cricket Club (ACC) and Tornado Cricket Club (TCC). Batting first, ACC raised a score of 146 for 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Rahul was the top scorer with 35 runs in just 25 balls. Balbir Singh, Rakesh Bawa and Sachin also contributed 21, 20 and 19 runs to the total.
For TCC, Arvind was the pick of the bowler who scalped 3 wickets by giving 30 runs in his 4 over spell. Aakash and Sunil also took 2 and one wicket by giving 14 and 17 runs, respectively in their 4-over spell.
In reply, TCC easily chased the target in just 17 overs by loosing just 3 wickets, and thus won the match. Raju was the highest scorer for TCC who made 47 runs in 33 balls with the help of two sixes and 5 boundaries. Sunny and Chander also contributed 33 and 30 runs by playing 35 and 18 balls, respectively.
For ACC, Balbir took 2 wickets by giving just 42 runs while Shiva also took one wicket in his 3-over spell.
Raju of TCC was declared as man of the match for his best performance with the bat.
The second match was played between MGCA XI and Khalsa XI, which was won by the former by seven runs.
Batting first, MGCA XI set a target of 142 runs for its opponent by losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Ateev Saini scored highest 46 runs in just 31 balls with the help of four boundaries. Surya and Suryansh also added 24 and 23 runs to the total.
For Khalsa XI, Manu took 2 wickets while Harpreet and Sourav also scalped one wicket each.
In reply, Khalsa XI failed to chase the target and could score only 134 runs for 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. In this way, Khalsa XI lost the match to MGCA XI. Harpreet scored 38 runs, Hirinder Pal scored 27 while Vivek also added 25 to the total.
For MGCA XI, Surya took 3 wickets by giving just 16 runs in his 3-over spell. Rocky, Ajay and Sahil also scalped 2, 2 and one wicket, respectively.
Surya of MGCA XI was declared as man of the match for his best performance with both bat and ball.
Sandeep Manchanda and Rajinder Singh were the umpires of the matches while the Sohail Yusuf was the scorer.
