Toyam Hyderabad advances to Qualifier 2 with victory over India Capitals

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: In a commanding display of bowling, Toyam Hyderabad secured their place in Qualifier 2 by defeating India Capitals by 7 wickets in the eliminator match at Bakshi Stadium, here today.
After losing the toss and being put to field first, Toyam Hyderabad’s bowlers dominated the innings. India Capitals struggled, with Dwayne Smith scoring just 3 runs off 4 balls and Dhruv Raval contributing 18 runs from 13 balls. The highlight for India Capitals was Collin de Grandhomme, who top-scored with 36 runs from 19 balls. Ultimately, the team was bowled out for a mere 88 runs in 14.4 overs. For Toyam Hyderabad, Ravi Jangid and Shivakant Shukla shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets each, while skipper Gurkeerat Singh Mann claimed 2 wickets for 11 runs.
Chasing a modest target of 89 runs, Toyam Hyderabad lost Chadwick Walton early for just 5 runs. However, George Worker and Peter Trego steadied the innings, adding 24 runs for the second wicket. Worker scored 27 off 21 balls, and Trego contributed 19 runs off 10 balls. Gurkeerat Singh Mann remained not out with 22 runs off 13 balls, guiding his team to victory in just 11.3 overs.
For India Capitals, Iqbal Abdulla, Avinash Bhailal Yadav, and Ashley Nurse each took one wicket but could not halt Toyam Hyderabad’s charge.
