Traditional politics responsible for turmoil in Kashmir: Vakil

JAMMU, Apr 1: Former minister Abdul Gani Vakil has blamed “political exploitation” of PDP, BJP, National Conference and Congress for the renewing turmoil in Kashmir valley.
Accusing both NC-Congress and PDP-BJP alliances of promising heavens and offering cycles of death and destruction, Vakil in a statement here impressed upon the people of Kashmir to vote for any independent candidate according to their conscience but not for either the NC-Congress alliance or PDP-BJP combine when they participate in poll process.
Alleging that both NC-Congress and PDP-BJP alliances are equally responsible for exploiting people in the name of Kashmir resolution and article 370, Vakil said they have brought miseries to the people by sowing the seeds of corruption, institutional denigration and administrative waywardness.
Asking the people to teach both NC-Congress and PDP-BJP alliances a lesson for their misdeeds and breaking promises Vakil said both the alliances have sold the dreams of autonomy, self rule and dialogue for peace with dignity but have done nothing to bring peace and prosperity to the State. He said time has come for the people to close the chapter for all those who have been exploiting them for the last seventy years.
Condemning the killing of three civilians in Chadoora area of Central kashmir’s Budgam district Vakil said ” It is very unfortunate that both the ruling PDP-BJP combine and mainstream opposition leaders are watching the blood of innocent kashmiris spilling on the streets in Kashmir”.
Demanding a judicial probe into last year’s civilian deaths and Chadoora’s civilian killings, Vakil said inaction has become the routine for the Government just to shield the guilty and blow up the justice delivery system in the State.
