Jammu the City of Temples has become congested with the passage of time. During Governor Jagmohan’s regime a flyover was constructed to ease out the traffic congestions but now, it too seems insufficient. More than 25 years have passed and traffic has increased in the city to an unmanageable level.
Increase in per capita traffic population of Jammu City is so alarming that it has become one of the top cities of the Asia in this regard. Jammu-Akhnoor Road via Canal is always choked. Similarly traffic from Bus Stand to Bantalab via New Plot has the same scenario.
It has been seen that Traffic Jams are occuring for hours together. Proposals for construction of flyovers on these two routes have been through but no headway has been made. Political leadership irrespective of their party affiliations should seriously think over this issue and provide a sigh of relief to the needy population.
