SAMBA, Sept 19: There is brewing public resentment in Vijaypur township against the failure of authorities to construct the parking slots for the vehicles in the town resulting in constant traffic jams and accidents.
The people, while expressing their concern over the failure of authorities to construct the parking slot in the town said that despite the widening of National Highway there is a traffic nuisance in Vijaypur as all the vehicles stop at National Highway at Ramgarh Chowk resulting into traffic jams.
The people are facing such a problem due to failure of authorities to construct parking slot in the area that drivers of all vehicles including trucks and passenger buses are parking their vehicles on Main Chowk resulting into traffic nuisance in the area.
According to Madan Lal a trader the people especially aged persons are unable to cross the National Highway in the town and the authorities have failed to divert the traffic from by pass to decrease the pressure of traffic on Vijaypur town.
He said that due to failure of authorities to construct the parking slot in the town the transporters are parking their vehicles in BDO Office which has been converted into a transport yard by transporters.
The Government as well as National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) should pay immediate attention to the problem, said Ram Kumar a local resident failing which the people will be forced to resort to protest.
