JAMMU, Aug 5: G D Goenka Public School Jammu governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust inaugurated a Traffic Park in the school premises, here.
Goenkans held a function in collaboration with Regional Transport Office, Jammu for inculcating awareness of Traffic rules among the students.
The chief guest of the function was Arvind Kotwal, Regional Transport Officer.
Neeraj Sharma (Asstt RTO), Kuldeep Singh (ARTO) and Jugal Sharma (ARTO) were the guests of honour.
Sunil Cannie (Motor Vehicle Inspector) and Abhinish Sharma, MVI were also present on this occasion.
It was indeed a moment of great pride as G D Goenka Public School, Jammu is the first private school ever to have ‘A Traffic Park’ of its own kind in the school premises.
The function started with the presentation of bouquets to the dignitaries, followed by a formal welcome song and a dance performance by the children of the School.
They also presented mime act on Traffic problems.
Mr Kotwal addressed the gathering and apprised the students regarding traffic violations, advised teenagers not to drive for the cause of adventure or thrill and to avoid high speed driving, to obey traffic rules, besides avoiding  use of cell phones while driving, to follow road safety measures in order to avoid fatal accident.
To make the session more interesting and informative, there were several short films shown to the students.
The Chairman, Rahul Bansal and Director Sanya Bansal were also present on this occasion.
The Principal of the school, Dr R P Singh presented vote of thanks.
The programme culminated with the presentation of the mementoes to the chief guest and the guests of honour.
