Srinagar, Nov 19: Traffic Police has realized hefty amount as fine and seized hundreds of vehicles for violating the traffic rules in Kashmir division.
Traffic Department during checking on various places in Srinagar city and its adjoining areas realized lakhs of rupees as also seized hundreds of vehicles from those who have found violating the traffic rules and regulations.
In this connection Deputy Superintendant of Police Traffic city south Srinagar said that Rs 71,84,966 have been realized as fine from the violators of traffic rules and 2933 vehicles have been seized during checking.
He further said that 41547 challans have been registered against the violators out of which 6002 challans were produced before the court of law and 35,545 challans were compounded instantly and subsequently the realized amount has been deposited in concerned bank.
Senior Superintendant of Police said that 37442 challans have been registered from May 2017 to September 2017 by traffic rural Kashmir and 179 vehicles have been seized during the period from the violators.
Rs 6682508 that has been realized from the violators has been deposited in Government treasury.
Deputy Superintendant Traffic NHW Ramban said that 35230 challans have been done to the violators with effect from May 1 to September 30 and the amount realized from the violators in this connection has been deposited in concerned bank.
