Training of police personnel with army will enable smooth joint operations: Agarwal

SRINAGAR, Oct 10: In order to upgrade and enhance professional capabilities of its personnel in the deliverance, Jammu and Kashmir Police organized 15-days special capsule course of trainees with the sister organization. The trainees, who recently completed Basic Training Course (BTC) from Police Training School Manigam, are getting special training at Corps Battle School Khrew.
This was disclosed by Additional Director General of Police ADGP (Trainings), Navin Agarwal during his visit to Corps Battle School today.
He said that the training of police personnel with the Army will create more synergy between the police and the security forces enabling smooth joint operations. It will also equip police personnel with latest weapons and tactics used by armed forces enabling the State police to gradually relieve the army from routine internal security duties.
ADGP disclosed that in the first batch 386 trainees are being imparted training with the aim to enhance their professional capabilities to handle law and order and other professional challenges in a befitting manner.
He added that after completing the basic training they have to perform professional duties and represent themselves in the field as representative of the Organization by delivering at different levels and maintaining better relations with the public.
Agarwal interacted with the Principal and training management of Battle School and discussed various issues with regard to ongoing training course. During the inspection he enquired from the contingents about the benefits of special course and asked them to acquaint themselves with the modern tactics of policing.
He discussed various issues pertaining to imparting special training course to the personnel and up-gradation the professional skills. He said that JKP has been focusing on different aspects of training to acquaint the personnel about modern skills of policing. All the training institutions would be provided required infrastructure and manpower to get desired results, he added.
Earlier, Principal of the Army School briefed ADGP about training activities being carried out in the School. He also apprised about the special training being imparted to the trainees to strengthen professional skills of the cops.
