KATHUA, Feb 22: A deputation of building material suppliers, tractor trolley operators and tipper owners met with Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, OP Bhagat and apprised the problems being faced by them. They demanded transparency in sale of building material as no proper receipt for material and GST Bill is given for supplying of sand, Bajari and stone by stone crushers.
They also held a protest demonstration against the concerned authorities for keeping mum on charging of higher price of sand, Bajari and stone by stone crusher management and Mining Department and no bill or receipt is issued to them. They later met with DC Kathua, OP Bhagat and highlighted their demands. The deputation included the Rakesh Kumar, Dimple Kumar , Akshay Kumar , Vijay Kumar, and Pawan Kumar and submitted the memorandum to DC Kathua.
They demanded the fixation of mineral rates from stone crushers, fixation of minerals royalty rates, and proper bills of minerals with GST to mineral suppliers or customers. They said that due to non issuing of proper bill and Form A to suppliers, the seized many tractor trolleys and tippers few days ago and imposed huge fine on them. In such circumstances it is difficult for suppliers to works and they have stopped the supply of building materials.
The Deputy Commissioner Kathua O P Bhagat assured them to take appropriate action in this matter so that transparency is maintained.
