JAMMU, Feb 24: North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) and Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu is jointly organizing ‘Tribal Festival-2018’ from tomorrow.
The festival will conclude on February 28, 2018 and art forms from Chhatisgarh, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Tripura, Odisha and Punjab will participate in it.
“In this series, this festival is being organized in Jammu. The same kind of festivals were organized in member states of the NZCC viz. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and U.T. Chandigarh,” said the organizers while addressing media persons.
In order to further this tradition, programmes of folk dance, folk music, folk instruments and folk theatre will be organized in all seven states of this Zone.
The organizers said that the festival will be inaugurated by Kavinder Gupta, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on February 25, 2018 at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, while NN Vohra and First Lady, Usha Vohra will be the chief guest during the closing ceremony at the same venue on February 28, 2018.
To organize this festival, we received full support from Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu and its Secretary, Dr. Aziz Hajini and we do hope that the same will continue in the future also.
