JAMMU, Aug 28 : Recalling the supreme sacrifices of security forces in safeguarding the nation from evil elements inimical to peace and progress, Minister of State for Cooperative, Finance, Stationary and Higher Education, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today appealed the people to imbibe in themselves patriotism and high principals of those great personalities to create a better society to live in.
The Minister said this while paying floral tributes to Lt. Sushil Khajuria (Kirti Chakra) of 18 Grenadiers who sacrificed his life while fighting militants in Kupwara district last year at a Shardhanjali Samaroh organized at Sushil Park Sungwali in district Samba here today.
Member Legislative Council, Subash Gupta, District Development Commissioner Samba, Mubarak Singh, Ex-MLA, Prakash Sharma, Chairman Cooperative Bank, Mohinder Singh, SDPO, Manish Anand, senior officers of district administration, panchs, sarpanchs and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
Minister described Lt. Shusil Khauria as the real hero who selflessly sacrificed life for his motherland and made the state as well as the country proud. He said that martyrs never die and will always remain alive in the hearts of the people. He urged upon the youth to follow the footsteps of Lt. Shushil Khajuria which will a real tribute to such martyrs.
On the occasion, the Minister inaugurated a medical camp at Sushil Park, Sungwali organized by the district administration in collaboration with Memorial Committee of Amar Shaheed Lt. Sushil Khajuria in which medical check-up was conducted by the expert doctors besides free medicines were provided to the patients.
