JAMMU, July 2: Glowing tributes were paid to veteran Kashmiri Pandit leader and RSS ideologue late Amarnath Vaishnavi on his fifth death anniversary here today.
The day was also observed as Vaishnavi Divas. The function was jointly organized by Vyeth a social and cultural organization and All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) which late leader served as its president till his last breath.

A large number of Kashmiri Pandits participated in the function which was held at Abhinav theatre here this afternoon.
Vice Chancellor, Central University, Jammu, Prof Ashok Aima was the chief guest on the occasion while BJP general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages , Arvinder Aman were the guests of honour.
In his address Prof Ashok Aima termed late A N Vaishnavi a messiah for Kashmiri Pandits as well as down trodden people of the society. Vaishnavi Ji not only served his own community but nation as a whole. The people of other communities also remember him, he added.
He said Vaishnavi Ji was a simple man of strong conviction who served the nation till his last breath.
Showering all accolades on Vaishnavi Ji, Ashok Kaul said the late KP leader was a man of principles who never compromised with them. He recalled his heroic role in Praja Parishad Movement and said people of entire State will remain indebted to his services always and added that late leader was the symbol of Indian nationalism in Kashmir.
Arivnder Aman while recalling the services of Vaishnavi Ji said State has lost a great leader in his death.
Veteran social activist Utpal Koul said Vaishnavi Ji not only contributed in the field of politics but also in the socio –cultural and educational field and he will be remembered for centuries together.
Highlighting the contributions of Vaishnavi Ji ASKPC State president Ravinder Raina recalled his role for welfare of community and said that despite in old age he along with his lieutenant Hira Lal Chatta worked tirelessly till their last breath to mitigate the sufferings of the exiled community.
Ashok Braroo a social activist and KP Sabha senior leader termed Vaishanvi Ji a great social activist who owned no property to his name. He said he was the real Swayam Sewak who acted on the teachings of RSS founder Dr Hedgewar and former Sarsangchalak Guru Golewalkar during his lifetime and served the motherland selflessly.
Senior KP leader H N Jattu while recalling services of Vaisnhavi Ji to community termed him a great Karam Yogi.
Founder Director Radio Sharda Ramesh Hangloo said words fell short in highlighting the contribution and yeoman’s service of Vaishnavi Ji to community. In his welcome address Prof Varinder Rawal called Vaishnavi Ji a beacon of light in the darkness and a symbol of honesty and dedication.
President K P Sabha, K K Khosa and Prof R L Shant also paid rich tributes to late KP leader while the Stage was conducted by Kusum Tickoo a well known artist.
In connection with Vaishnavi Divas a function as also organized by KPC at New Delhi under the chairmanship of Kundan Kashmiri in which rich tributes were paid to late leader by the speakers. Kashmiri described Vaishnavi Ji a great nationalist and towering personality.
Rich tributes were paid to Vaishnavi Ji at Kashmiri Bhawan Pune at a function organised by Kashmiri Hindu Sabha Pune.
Those who paid tributes included Swami Kumar Ji Jagmohan Koul president of the Sabha and R P Razdan its general secretary.
