Tridents CC, Ace Club register wins

JAMMU, Feb 17: Sushant Ganjoo sparkled with the willow and Somil Raina displayed good skill with both bat and ball as Tridents Cricket Club and Ace Cricket Club got the better of their rivals to consolidate their positions at the league phase of the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Premier League (KPPL) Edition-4 held at KC Sports Club.
Earlier, in the first match of the day, Ace Cricket Club drubbed Team VR Events by a narrow margin of 15 runs in a close contest. Batting first, Ace Cricket Club scored a good total of 162 runs in 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
Shivam top scored with 47 runs off 36 balls studded with 6 fours and one six, while Suraj Koul contributed 43 runs off 35 balls with 3 fours and one six. For Team VR Events, Vikky Bhat took 2 wickets by conceding 24 runs in his 4 overs, while Praful Dhar claimed one wicket by conceding 27 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, Team VR Events managed to score 147 runs in 19.1 overs, thus lost the match by 15 runs. Vicky Bhat and Vijay Bhat contributed 28 runs each, while Vishal scored 24 runs. For his magnificent all-round display, Somil Raina was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match of the day, Tridents Cricket Club defeated Kupwara Knight Riders in an easy contest by 8 wickets. Kupwara Knight Riders scored a modest total of 122 runs in 17.4 overs. Ashish Bhat top scored with 38 runs off 35 balls with 4 fours and one six, while Vimarsh Kaw contributed 31 runs off 21 balls with 6 boundaries. For Tridents Club, Surinder Raina was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets by conceding 12 runs in his 4 overs, while Amit Wali bagged 3 wickets and Manmohan Raina claimed one.
In reply, Tridents Cricket Club rode on a splendid knock of unbeaten 72 runs 47 balls by Sushant Ganjoo and chased the target easily in 16.2 overs. Sushant smashed 12 boundaries in his knock.
Vimarsh Kaw and Rajinder Jr claimed one wicket each for Kupwara Knight Riders. Sushant Ganjoo was declared as the man of the match for his superb knock.
