Trikuta Club, Sree Club script wins in Pawan Memorial T20

AKHNOOR, July 1: Trikuta Cricket Club and Sree Cricket Club registered emphatic wins over their rivals to move into the next round of the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
Earlier, in the first match, Trikuta Club trounced Cantt Cricket Club by 34 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, Trikuta scored a decent total of 153 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Kavi, Lucky and Arun Sharma contributed 28, 26 and 20 runs to the total respectively. For Cantt Club, Omesh Gupta captured 3 wickets, while Raman Dutta claimed 2 wickets. Parshotam and Dheeraj also claimed one wicket each.
Cantt Club, in reply, bundled out for 119 runs in 17.3 overs, thus lost the match by 34 runs. Dheeraj was the top scorer with 32 runs, while Sahil and Parshotam contributed 23 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Mukesh took 3 wickets for Trikuta Club, while Arun Sharma and Kavi took 2 wickets each. Irshad and Ashok also claimed one wicket apiece. Kavi was adjudged man of the match.
In another match, Sree Club crushed Daskal Cricket Club by a huge margin of 101 runs in a one-sided contest.
Batting first, Sree Club scored a formidable total of 149 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Amit was the top scorer with 45 runs, while Vikram, Kadir and Sanju claimed one wicket apiece. For Daskal Club, Mukesh captured 3 wickets, while Sandeep and Vinod claimed 2 wickets each.
Daskal Club, in reply collapsed at a meagre total of 48 runs in 16.1 overs and lost the match by 101 runs. Vijay was the only batsman to cross double figures, who scored 13 runs. For Sree Club, Sanju bagged 3 wickets, while Sahil and Kadir claimed 2 wickets each. Vikram and Amit also picked one wicket apiece. Amit was declared man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vikas Bali and Jimmy Mangotra as umpires, while Srikant was the scorer. Sham Singh Langeh is the organizing secretary of the tournament.
Kashyap Cricket Club will lock horns with Singh XI in the quarterfinal match at the same venue tomorrow.
