Trikuta Club thrashes Sahil CC by 49 runs

JAMMU, Feb 17: Team effort helped Trikuta Cricket Club to defeat Sahil Cricket Club by a big margin of 49 runs to advance into the second round of the ongoing Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Mandal cricket ground, here.
The Tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of the organizing committee including Sachin Singh, Sunil Kumar, Manmohan Paroch and chairman, Rajesh Dhar.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first on a ground which is good for power-hitting, Trikuta Club scored a decent total of 180 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Lucky Singh top scored with power-packed unbeaten 40 runs off 19 balls, studded with 6 fours and one six, while Irshad, Riyaz and Surjeet Singh contributed 31, 29 and unbeaten 26 runs to the total respectively. All the batsmen played sensibly and shaped their innings’ with offence and defence, which helped the team’s cause. For Sahil Cricket Club, Pawandeep was the most successful bowler, who claimed 3 important wickets by conceding 22 runs in his 4 overs, while Arjun and Sikander claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Sahil Cricket Club was bundled out for 131runs in 19.4 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 49 runs. Sukhvinder Singh scored brisk 25 runs with off 19 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Rahul and Sikander contributed 24 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Ashwin also chipped in with 15 runs. For Trikuta Club, Irshad, Surjeet Singh and Rahul claimed 2 wickets each by conceding 13, 18 and 18 runs in their 4 overs respectively.
The match was officiated by Vicky and Gulshan as umpires, while Achit Mahajan and Sohan Bharti were the scorer and commentator respectively.
