REASI, May 30: The District Level inter school tournament organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, concluded here today.
Trikuta Shiksha Niketan, Reasi emerged Champions by defeating Government High School Aghar Jitto by six wickets in the finals of District Level-Inter School Tennis Ball Cricket for Boys Under-17 at General Zorawar Sports Stadium, here.
IPS (Prob) Amod Kumar Nagpure was the chief guest and Bansi Lal Kerni was the guest of honour on the valedictory function.
District Youth and Sports Officer, Dr SS Chib, Pardeep Nag, Tour Kumar, Jaswant Singh, Ashoka Kumari, Devinder Kour, Ajay Kumar, Ram Asra and a large number of locals were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagpure stressed upon the role of sports in the inculcation of cherished human qualities like that of unity, fraternity and sportsmanship, adding that is where the competition starts-one understands the meaning of team and also starts valuing friendships.
Earlier, after winning the toss, HS Aghar Jitto choose to bat first and managed to score a paltry total of 41 runs in the stipulated overs. KP Singh scored 17 runs with three boundaries. TSN fielded superbly and got four wickets in the form of run-outs. Varun Singh of TSN bagged 3 wickets for his team.
In reply, TSN achieved the target by losing 3 wickets.
The match was officiated by Avinash Kumar and Opinder Pal Singh as umpires, while Kuldeep Raj and Manzoor Hussain were the scorers.
