RAMBAN, Oct 12: A driver was killed, when the truck he was driving plunged into gorge near Sherbibi area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JKO2BJ-5075, was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into 250 feet deep gorge near Sherbibi area of tehsil Banihal, resulting into on the spot death of the driver.
After getting information, a team from Banihal police station rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal for completing legal and medical formalities.
The deceased has been identified as Sohan Lal (31), son of Raday Sham, a resident of Pouni, District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 141/16 under Section 279 and 304-A RPC has been registered at police station Banihal and investigation started.
