TS Wazir elected as president, Zorawar Secretary General of Hockey J&K

JAMMU, Sept 17: Former MLC, S Trilochan Singh Wazir was today unanimously elected as President, Hockey J&K besides Zorawar Singh Jamwal as Secretary General and S Indpal Singh as Treasurer of the Association during the election held at M. A. Stadium, here.
Out of a total 30 recognized Hockey Clubs of the State, members of 22 Clubs participated in the polling process and unanimously declared S Trilochan Singh Wazir, Zorawar Singh Jamwal and S Indpal Singh as new office bearers.
The elections were held under the supervision of independent panel headed by retired Principal District & Sessions Judge, Ashok Kumar Shan along with Treasurer, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, Advocate Chetan Misri and retired SSP, Sudershan Kumar Bakshi.
S Rajinder Singh, Senior Vice-President Hockey India also participated during the election as an observer.
While declaring the election, Returning Officer, S Jung Bahadur Singh Bali informed “the Members that only three nominations were received for the post of president, secretary general and treasurer, respectively, following which I declare S Trilochan Singh Wazir as president, Hockey J&K while Zorawar Singh Jamwal and S Indpal Singh as Secretary General and Treasurer respectively”.
While addressing the members of various Clubs that had come from different districts of Jammu as well as Kashmir divisions, President Hockey, J&K, S Trilochan Singh Wazir regretted the attitude of the authorities in providing proper venue to conduct the poll process and for not sending its observer.
Secretary General, Zorawar Singh Jamwal also thanked the members of various Clubs for unanimously electing him.
He assured the members that the new team would work day and night to bring back the pristine glory of Hockey by taking forward the game to all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
