JAMMU, Feb 3: The Shri Ram Universal School (TSRUS) organised a capacity building programme for teachers here today.
The capacity building for teachers is crucial for ensuring effective teaching and learning outcomes. It involves providing professional development opportunities, resources, and support to enhance educators’ skills, knowledge, and practices.
The trained resource personnel empanelled with Shri Educare Limited (SEL), New Delhi Ishita Sanyal with 20 years plus of school teaching and leadership and Shaveta Bhagria, a maths professional with more than 16 years of experience in teaching maths conducted a two-day Capacity Building Programme for the teachers of TSUSJ.
The resource persons deliberated in length the nuances of integrating educational technology tools and introducing a wide range of teaching platforms stuffed with educational resources such as textbooks and supplementary materials to enhance learning experiences and promote digital literacy.
The more experienced teachers were paired with newer or less experienced colleagues to provide guidance, support and feedback on teaching practices and professional growth. The resource persons emphasised the need for collaboration which fosters a culture of continuous improvement focused on areas such as pedagogy, curriculum development, assessment strategies, classroom management, and student engagement.
Highlight of the programme was providing training on inclusive teaching practices to ensure that educators can effectively support the diverse needs of all students, including those with disabilities or special educational needs. Investing into a comprehensive capacity building programme is expected to empower teachers to continually enhance their skills and expertise, ultimately leading to improved student outcomes.
