JAMMU, Sept 3: Jammu and Kashmir Tug-of-War Association has selected men and women teams to participate in the 29th Senior National and 14th Senior Federation Cup Tug-of-War Championship to be held from September 5 to 9 in the Sports Complex, The Enlightened Group of Colleges, Jhunir, Mansa, Punjab.
The teams were selected by Hardeep Singh Anand, President of the Association, Jodh Singh Isher, Secretary, Jasvir Singh, Joint Secretary and Ajay Peshin under the supervision of Screening Committee members of J&K Sports Counsel Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, Jammu and other members at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar.
The players selected for the 29th Senior Men National under 640 kg weight category include Jagdeep Sharma, Kapil Singh, Muddsar, Ritesh Anand, Ishtik, Gaurav Sharma, Nitesh Kumar, Harshit Singh and Raman Kumar.
The players selected for the 29th Senior Men National under weight category 560 kg (mix4+4) include Gurvinder Kaur, Shriya, Laxmi, Rittu, Samiksha, Sourav, Manoj Kumar, Inder Mohan Singh and Imraz Ahmad Bali.
The players selected for the 14th Senior Federation (men) under 640 kg weight category include Taswinder Singh, Robin, Arshid, Mohammad Mubshar, Yasir Rashid, Zubair Basheer, Jamsheed and Nitish Sharma.
The players selected for the 14th Senior Federation (men and women) under 540 kg weight category (mix4+4) include Menu Choudhary, Parveena, Vishali, Rajni Bala, Ankee, Sohan Lal, Gaurav, Lalit Khajuria and Vishal.
Sourabh Kumar, Kanwal Deep Singh, Gurvinder Kaur, Anam Khan and Gurleen Kaur will accompany the teams as coaches and managers.
On the occasion, Hardeep Singh Anand, President of the Association distributed kits among the players which were sponsored by M/s Trans Asia Hotels Private Limited Unit Hotel Asia Jammu Tawi, Jammu.
