JAMMU, Oct 4: Scripting a convincing win over Vishal Abrol in summit clash, hugely experienced Sumesh Turki has become Jammu District Senior Snooker Champion, here today.
The 22nd Jammu District Open Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship is being organized by the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) at Billiards Hall in MA Stadium, here.
Sumesh blanked Vishal Abrol in straight frames 4-0 in best of seven games contest by (69-38, 96-14, 64-54, 46-29). The talented cueist won the first frame easily by (69-38) and thrashed the rival by a huge margin in the second one by (96-14). He kept the momentum going and won the other two frames easily to register a 4-0 victory.
Meanwhile, the Junior Billiards matches also began today, with Kanav Manwa and Rohit Sodhi, entering into the finals.
Earlier, Kanav Manwa outplayed Romy 2-0 by (50-23, 50-23), while Rohit Sodhi got better of Akshay Kumar by 2-1 (50-46, 19-50, 50-45).
Now the final of junior billiards would be played tomorrow alongwith the matches in Senior Billiards which would be getting underway.
