RAMBAN, Sept 11: Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, during checking a team from Police Station Ramban intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number PB09H-8379 which was on its way from Kashmir towards Punjab.
During checking, police team recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw loaded on the vehicle and arrested the rider and pillion rider.
The arrested persons were identified as Balhar Singh, son of Swarn Singh of Kulbewal Tehsil Sultanpur Kapurthala Punjab and Jagdeep Singh, son of Ajeet Singh of Ahmedgarh Channa, Malair Kotla Punjab.
During initial questioning, they disclosed that they were smuggling the contraband for selling purpose.
A case FIR Number 315/2022 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Sandeep Charak made the arrests under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
