SRINAGAR, Jan 11: Police today said it have recovered two bodies, one of whom is unidentified, at two places in Valley.
A police spokesman said they recovered a male body identified as Noor Mohammad Sheikh of Batamaloo, who is an employee of SMC Srinagar, near Tengpora Bridge here. “Police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of his death,” he said.
The spokesman said another unidentified male body was recovered from Batamaloo Bus stand area here this morning.
He said the deceased is about 70 years of age and is wearing Pheran and trouser. “The body of deceased is lying in mortuary at Pantha Chowk for identification. Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the identity and cause of his death,” the spokesman said.
