SUCHETGARH, July 24: The core team of FICCI FLO Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh (JKL) had attended the Beating Retreat Ceremony at the Suchetgarh Border Outpost, along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu.
The retreat ceremony was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) BSF Jammu, Chiter Pal, and Ajay Sharma, Commandant BSF, along with the Core Team of FICCI FLO JKL including Ruchika Gupta, Aarti Choudhary, Sona Mehta, Pooja Gandotra, Mona Saraf and IMFA artists.
The event was part of a two-day Art Camp organized by FICCI FLO JKL. On the first day, FICCI FLO JKL, in association with the BSF and Institute of Music and Fine Art (IMFA), University of Jammu, conducted an Art Camp at Octroi Post, Suchetgarh Border, RS Pura, featuring the works of 20 talented artists from IMFA.
On the occasion, eminent Journalist and Senior News Editor, Times Now, Pradeep Dutta, felicitated the participating artists during the programme. In his address, he lauded the efforts of FICCI FLO JKL for organizing such an impactful camp and recognized the creative potential of art in fostering a vision of peace and prosperity for the region.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, BSF appreciated FICCI FLO JKL for their initiative and stressed how events like these contribute to building peace. He encouraged further collaboration between FICCI FLO JKL and BSF, expressing appreciation for the exceptional artworks created by the artists and wishing them success in their future endeavors.
During the ceremony, DIG BSF also felicitated Dr. Milan Sharma, HoD Department of Painting, along with Ankush Kesar, Print Maker, Department of Painting IMFA, University of Jammu, acknowledging their valuable contributions.
Varuna Anand, Chairperson of FICCI FLO JKL, shared that the main aim of the two-day programme was to acknowledge the efforts of LG Manoj Sinha and the Tourism Department in promoting the border area as a major tourist attraction while fostering peace and harmony within the region. She expressed her appreciation to all the artists and informed that they were generously provided with additional art materials as a token of recognition for their exceptional work, allowing them to fully explore and elevate their creative potential.
The IMFA artists who participated in the Art Camp include Suman Chib, Savtanter Bharat, Suneel Dutt, Sonali Sharma, Shakti Kumari, Mukesh Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, Adith Kumar Kotwal, Isha Sharma, Nikhil Singh, Arun Kumar, llyas Latief, Shazad Ahmed, Ishwariya Singh, Monika Chouhan, Rabiya Salaria, Divyanshu Kumar Badhan, Shreeanshi Sumbria, Bharti Verma and Abhishek Verma.
