Two-day mega Employment Fair concludes

REASI, Nov 29: Two-day Employment Fair organized by the District Administration in collaboration with Department of Employment concluded at Sports Stadium Reasi here today.
While addressing the concluding ceremony, District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary congratulated all the Departments for their enthusiastic participation in making the fair successful. He said awareness about the various States and Centrally sponsored self employment schemes initiated by the Government for benefit and welfare of the youth is vital for effective implementation of these schemes besides help in motivating unemployed youth to establish their own small income generating units as liberal funding and finance is being provided by the Banks.
DDC also distributed certificates among the students who have successfully completed the three months Computer Software Programme conducted by SC/ST Development Corporation Reasi.
He urged upon the various departments to motivate and provide all the necessary help and felicitation to the aspirant un-employed youth in making them self reliant. Such Programmes/fairs cum awareness camps are going to be organised in the far flung and remote areas of the district shortly added Dr Choudhary.
The stall of CRPF Reasi, Sheep Husbandry, National Mineral and Mining Corporation were awarded with first, second and third prizes respectively and four consolation prizes were given to SMVDU, Army, Women Development Corporation and Coaching cum Guiding centre for SC/ ST Reasi.
During the two day-fair, over 1000 unemployed youth were registered under various Government schemes. While as 2590 youths were provided counselling during the employment fair.
A colourful cultural programme was also organised by the District Information Centre Reasi which spell bound the audience.
Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh Tara, SP MS Chouhan, Dr Piyush Singla (IAS), ACD Joginder Singh Rai, PO DRDA Dr Jagdish Mehra, GM DIC Krishan Lal, DTO Arshad Choudhary were also present on the occasion.
