SRINAGAR, July 8: Fayaz Ahmad Sofi son of Mohammad Ashraf of Safakadal, Srinagar was drowned near the Aharbal waterfall. Kulgam police has started search operation to retrieve the body of the youth.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Irshad Wani son of Ali Mohammad of Mahu Mangat, Banihal was drowned in river Jehlum while extracting sand from it at Shivpora, Srinagar. The body was fished out and handed over to his relatives for last rites. Police has started inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC in this regard.
