Two held with banned medicinal plant

SRINAGAR, Sept 29: Police today said it have arrested two persons and recovered banned medicinal plants (Patri) from their possession in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that acting on a tip off, police laid a checkpoint near Kondabal link road in Safapora area of the district. During checking, two persons namely Bashir Ahmad Lone and Rafiq Magray, who were carrying gunny bags, were intercepted.
“On checking, banned medicinal plant extract (patri) was recovered. Both the persons were arrested and bags were seized. A case under FIR number 36/2017 under Section 379 RPC, 06 Forest Act stands registered and investigation was taken up,” he added.
