Two held with 17.5 Kg poppy straw

JAMMU, Dec 3: Jhajjar Kotli police today achieved a major success by arresting two interstate drug peddlers with 17.5 kilograms of poppy straw.
“Based on specific inputs regarding drug peddling, several nakas were laid at different locations by Jammu Police. On one such naka led by SHO police station Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh assisted by Incharge police post Manwal PSI Ayub Khan at Nadal Manwal, police team rounded up two suspects in a vehicle bearing registration number PB10CL-1717,” a police spokesperson said.
He said on search, 17.5 Kg of Poppy straw was recovered from their possession. “In this regard, a case FIR Number 185/2021 u/s 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act was registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli and both the accused were arrested,” he said, adding, the accused were identified as Kuldeep son of Jarnail Singh and Rajesh son of Om Parkash, both residents of Lit (tehsil Bolath, district Kapurthalla, Punjab).
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
