RAMBAN, Oct 20: Two drug peddlers along with about 271 grams of charas were nabbed today by Ramban Police.
“A team of Police Station while naka checking at Railway T-Chowk intercepted two persons identified as Abdul Hamid Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat of Milora (Zainpora, Shopian) and Zakir Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed Dar of Krawa Banihal and on checking recovered around 271 grams of charas like substance as well as a cash amount of Rs 40,000 from their possession,” a police spokesman said.
He said the contraband was seized and both the accused persons were arrested on spot and taken into the custody. “In this connection, a case FIR number 234/ 2022 U/S 8/20/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
The overall recovery was carried out by police party headed by Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani (SHO Police Station Banihal).
