Two matches played in 12th Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Tourney

KATHUA, Dec 24: On the 6th day, two cricket matches were played in 12th Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Championship at Sports Stadium Kathua. First match was played between SPJ Gurgaon and Vicky-Akash-XI Pathankot while the second match was played between JKP Kathua and Stadium-XI Kathua team.
In the first match, Vicky Akash-XI Pathankot team won the toss and chose to bowl first. While batting first SPJ Gurgaon team scored just 170 runs in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. Ankit Narwal scored highest 89 runs in 62 balls with 9 boundaries along with 5 sixes and Surinder Dahiya scored 31 runs of 25 balls with two boundaries and one six.
Chasing the target of 171 runs, Vicky Akash -XI Pathankot team easily chased down the given target by the loss of five wickets. The top most scorer of the team was Navneet Virk who did splendid batting and scored the much needed knock of 92 runs in 49 deliveries with 8 boundaries and 7 sixes and was declared as man of the match.
In the second match, JKP team won the toss and chose to bat first and scored 71 runs and got all out in 11.1 overs. While chasing a target of 72 runs, Stadium-XI Kathua team easily chased down the given target in just 6.5 overs for the loss of four wickets.
