JAMMU, Aug 4: RS Pura Police arrested two notorious thieves and recovered stolen items worth lakhs from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan apprehended two notorious thieves along with 40 telecom batteries stolen from telecom towers and one Mahindra load carrier.
The arrested thieves were identified as Jamat Ali alias Jamatu, son of Mohammad Shafi of Belicharana District Jammu and Bilal Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ishaq of Gandoh District Doda.
Earlier, a case under FIR Number 49/2021 under Section 379 IPC was lodged at Police Station RS Pura after written complaints were received from the managers of telecom companies.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta.
