Two nursing homes booked

Srinagar, May 12: Two nursing homes were today booked for violating Legal Metrology laws here during an inspection of Legal Metrology Department, an official said.
He said the field executives of the department today conducted surprise inspection of several nursing homes and private hospitals to ascertain the correctness of weighing scales and height gauges used by them to note the weight and height of patients.
“It was found on inspection that the nursing homes are using domestic type of scales in their premises which is clear violation of Legal Metrology laws,” he said, adding that the nursing homes are commercial establishments and they are required to use Person Weighing Scales in their premises to note down the weight of patients.
“Two nursing homes were challaned for the lapse and one nursing home applied for the composition of the challan case and other challan case is being processed for the court sanction,” the official added.
