Two peddlers nabbed with heroin

JAMMU, Feb 21: Jammu police today arrested two drug peddlers from different locations and recovered an aggregate of 14.80 grams of heroin from their possession.
As per official sources, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta laid a naka at Deoli and intercepted a motorcycle.
During checking, police team recovered 4.30 grams of heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him. The arrested person was identified as Sunil Kumar alias Lucky, son of Kala Ram of Chumbian Brahmama, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 51/2023 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Jourian headed by PSI Karnail Singh established a surprise naka at Shunna Chowk (Jourian) and during checking, apprehended a pedestrian who was moving in suspicious conditions.
During personal search of the suspect namely Mohd Mushtaq son of Mohd Mansha, resident of village Bawa Talab (Jammu), 10.5 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession and accordingly, he was arrested.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 57/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Akhnoor. The seizure and arrest was made under supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma. Further investigation of the case was going on.
