Two snatchers arrested

JAMMU, Feb 9: Miran Sahib Police today arrested two snatchers and recovered snatched cash amount of Rs 20,000 from their possession.
“Acting on a complaint lodged at Police Station Miran Sahib regarding snatching of Rs 20,000 cash by unknown persons at Marallian area, a case under FIR Number 31/2023 U/S 382 IPC was registered in Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation got started,” a Police spokesman said.
He said during investigation, a team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SDPO R S Pura Surinder Singh and assisted by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq as well as PSI Mahroof Ahmed did strenuous efforts and finally with the help of CCTV footages of the area, rounded up two accused namely Bharat Bhushan son of Mohan Lal, resident of Badyal Brahmana (RS Pura) and Rattan Lal alias Piddu son of Dhunda Ram, resident of Agra Chak (RS Pura).
“During questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the snatching case and on their disclosure a vehicle bearing registration number JK02W-8307 used in snatching and cash of Rs 20,000 was recovered from their possession,” the spokesman said.
Further investigation of the case was going on, he added.
