Srinagar, May 7: An under-14 football tournament that was organized by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for the youths of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district concluded successfully.
A spokesman of the CRPF said that the 182 Battalion organized the tournament from May 4 to May 6. “Total 22 teams participated in tournament and final match was played between Youth Welfare Committee, Padgampora and Srinagar International School, Patal Bagh. Both the teams played very well and Srinagar International School, Patal Bagh won the tournament,” he said.
Commandant of 182 Battalion CRPF, N P Singh, welcomed chief guest Commanding Officer of 183 Battalion CRPF, Vinay Anand Prakash and guest of honor SSP Pulwama Rayees Bhat. In his welcome speech N P.Singh: “As we know that every journey has its end and every path does stop somewhere and now, we have come to the end of that journey to celebrate all the success and accomplishment.
“I am really delighted after hosting this under-14 football tournament for the youths of Pulwama, which showcased the best footballing talent and I made it my goal to better serve to people of Pulwama in my engagements with them. It is why CRPF organized the under-14 football tournament that has been such a huge success”.
He also stated: “We are grateful to the participant whose performance and dedicated efforts have inspired and motivated us all. We hope that you will remember your experiences at the under-14 football tournament for the rest of yours lives. You have truly been so fantastic throughout the games and compete in friendship and utmost dedication.”
The distribution of the prizes to the winners, runners and officials was done by Chief Guest and guest of honor. “On the occasion local administration along with media personnel appreciated the hard work and sincere efforts made by 182 CRPF and hoped that such type of sincere efforts will defiantly bridge the gap between the public and the security forces in the midst of the grim situation prevailing in the valley,” the spokesman added.
